Sherrie Moore was born November 3, 1986, in Derby, Kansas, and showed early promise as an athlete. He also starred on the football team at Derby High School before playing at Butler Community College. That (already quite impressive) résumé got him to the University of Oklahoma, where he was an offensive lineman for the Sooners and part of a team that dominated the Big 12.
Coaching Career: Climbing the Ladder
Moore’s coaching career started after his playing days. He had quality experience as an assistant at Louisville and at Central Michigan, working with tight ends and offensive linemen. Sherrone Moore came to Michigan’s staff in 2018 as the tight ends coach. He had a continued impact over the next several years. And he was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 2021.
Sherrone Moore was integral to Michigan’s consecutive Big Ten titles in 2021 and 2022. His offensive game plans and skill-based development, especially among the offensive line, commanded respect in the program and throughout college football.

The Wolverines beat the second-ranked Buckeyes, 13 10, at Ohio Stadium. Michigan came into the game as a heavy underdog but walked away with the victory, the program’s fourth straight win over Ohio State.
December 31, 2024:
Defeated Alabama 19–13 in the ReliaQuest Bowl It was Michigan’s second victory over Alabama in the same calendar year, a first.
